This Privacy Policy explains how Tax Partners Inc. ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you visit our website or submit information to us through our chat widget or forms. We are committed to handling your information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and, where it applies to visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA) and United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR.

2. Information we collect

  • Information you give us through our chat widget or forms: your name, email address, phone number, and what you tell us you are looking for.
  • Information collected automatically: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and similar usage data collected through cookies and analytics tools.

3. How we use your information (purposes)

  • To respond to your enquiry and assess whether our services fit your situation.
  • To contact you by phone and email, and, only with your separate consent, by SMS text message about your enquiry, scheduling, and reminders.
  • To provide, maintain, and improve our website and services.
  • To meet legal, regulatory, and record-keeping obligations.

4. Our legal bases for processing

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Consent – for sending you SMS and marketing communications. You can withdraw consent at any time (see Section 9).
  • Performance of a contract / steps before a contract – to respond to your request and provide services you ask for.
  • Legitimate interests – to run, secure, and improve our website and business, where these interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal obligation – to comply with applicable laws.

Under CASL, we send commercial electronic messages only after you have given express consent, and every message identifies us and includes a way to unsubscribe.

5. SMS / text messaging

If you opt in to text messages, we will send messages related to your enquiry, appointment scheduling, and reminders. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase or of receiving our services.

No mobile information will be sold, rented, or shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories of mobile opt-in data and consent are excluded from any third-party sharing. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers (processors) who help us operate, such as our CRM, chat, and scheduling platform (LeadConnector / HighLevel), email provider, and analytics and advertising platforms (such as Google and Meta). They are bound by contract to use your data only to provide services to us.
  • Authorities or third parties where required by law, or to protect our legal rights.

As stated in Section 5, mobile and SMS opt-in data is never shared with third parties for marketing.

7. International data transfers

We are based in Canada, and some of our service providers process data in Canada and the United States. If you are in the EEA or UK and we transfer your personal data outside your region, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (or the UK equivalent) or an adequacy decision. You may request a copy of the safeguards we use by emailing us.

8. Data retention

We keep your personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy or as required by law, after which it is deleted or anonymised. SMS consent records are retained as proof of consent for as long as we message you and for a reasonable period afterward.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights:

  • Access a copy of your personal information.
  • Correct (rectify) inaccurate information.
  • Delete (erase) your information.
  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Data portability – receive your data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.

To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. To stop texts, reply STOP; to stop emails, click unsubscribe. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

10. How to complain

If you have a concern, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority: in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada; in the EEA, your local data protection authority; in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

11. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for site functionality, analytics, and advertising (including Google and Meta). You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work without them.
